Get buns ready by buttering the inside of both the top and bottom half of each bun.
Mix BBQ seasoning with beef and form into four thick patties and indent the middle for even cooking. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Grill for 4-5 minutes on each side, add cheese when the burger is almost done and close the lid for about a minute to let it melt.
Toss buns onto grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly toasted.
Assemble burger by layering with lettuce, patty, tomato, onion, and chips. Spread barbecue sauce on the inside of the top bun. Close it up and chow down!
